BOROBUDUR TEMPLE

Borobudur temple is a glorious Buddhist temple. It is located 42 km from Jogja. The temple was build between 750 and 850. Borobudur is a world heritance archaeological site which has 7 levels and 1460 carved stone relieves. The relieves draw the Buddhist story and reflect life in the world before reaching the heaven.

Open: Sunday to Monday (9 am-5.00 pm)

KRATON YOGYAKARTA

Yogyakarta palace/Sultan palace was built in 1756-1790 by Sultan Hamengkubuwono I. Its architecture is one of the examples of Javanese cultural cosmos style. Its beautiful architecture and ornaments are the reflections of Javanese culture. The palace is still used as the residence for the King or Sultan and as the Javanese culture and art center.

Open: Monday to Sunday ( 8 am – 2 pm), Closed at 12 am on Friday.

JOGJA

Jogja, as the center of Javanese art and culture, boasts various kind of fascinating tourist attractions. That is the reason why people call Jogja as the cradle of Javanese culture.

Yogyakarta or Jogja, an old, elegant city similar to Solo, is on of the two remaining central traditional architecture, social customs, and ritual ceremonies place Jogja as the most interesting place to visit. Traditional art like gamelan music and traditional dance will always remind us the atmosphere of the Jogja at centuries ago.

This province is also acknowledged as an interesting place for researchers, geologist, and vulcanologist due to the caves in the limestone areas and an active volcano. Jogja was awarded special province status due to its role in the struggle for the Indonesian Independence.
